Hi, I'm David, the Organizer of SoC English Cafe and Club T-CAT.

Based in a local city near Tokyo named Koshigaya, I've been running an English-speaking community known as "SoC English Cafe" since 2015, and also started a local friendship community named "Club T-CAT" in 2021.

    At our online English sessions, members can talk to other members in English every day, and it gives them great opportunities to use English in their daily lives.

    However, we hadn't offered a way to improve other aspects of English than chatting, which are "reading," "writing," and "translation." These are crucially important skills to acquire if you want to become an effective communicator.

    This program contains my personal stories, views, and preferences as much as the stories of the people I met in my life. I chose to express myself here because I believe that opening up yourself and communicating with others in your own words are crucial factors in communication. I'm happy to share mine to make you understand my idea and urge you to put forward yours in return.

    Hopefully, this new interactive learning program will enrich your thoughts and extend your English communication skills further!

Club T-CAT

　はじめまして、私の名前はDavidです！SoC英会話、およびクラブT猫を主催しています。

　越谷という都内近郊の都市を拠点として、SoC英会話カフェという英会話コミュニティを2015年から運営するほか、2021年からはクラブT猫という友人コミュニティを主催しています。

　オンライン英会話では、コミュニティ内で他のメンバー達と毎日英語で会話することができ、日常的に英語を身近に使ってコミュニケーションする環境があります。

　とはいえ、これまでは会話に特化してきたため、英語を使ったコミュニケーションスキルを身に着けるうえで必須となる「リーディング」「ライティング」「翻訳」といったスキルを磨くプログラムは提供してきませんでした。

　学びのための材料として、このプログラムでは私がこれまで会ってきた方の話に加え、私自身の個人的なお話や、考え方、嗜好などといった内容が多く含まれています。これは、私自身の経験から、コミュニケーションにおいては「自分自身の言葉で自分をさらけだし、伝える」ということは欠かせない要素だと信じているからです。私がシェアする考え方を皆さんが理解しようとし、それに対する皆さん自身の考えを教えてもらえればうれしいです。

　この新しい相方向での学びプログラムが、みなさんの思考をより豊かにし、言語コミュニケーションのスキルを高めることにつながれば幸いです。
